Elf on the shelf…can you hear the ocean?

I’ve had this damn seashell up to my ear for the last hour and I’m not hearing nothin!  Now my arthritis has kicked in and I can’t bend my arm back down. The only sound I’m able to hear is the elbow joint creaking and cracking when I try to move, I look like an idiot seating here with this thing up to me ear….*_)*&!_*#)*!_*$$&
