Pinkie Binkie

SAM_0588

I could have used one of these a few months ago when my grandson Owen kept loosing his “dodo”. Where do those things go….one minute they are there and the next they are gone…..under the bed, under the chair cushion, in the toy box…..and on and on. Now I can keep them located all the time…not for Owen, as he gave up his “dodo” but maybe for a new grandbaby in the future.

SAM_0589

This cute pattern is by Vanilla House and comes with patterns for a dog, elephant and a fox.

SAM_0590SAM_0591

I lined it with co-ordinated fabric as well as a color co-ordinated binkie.

SAM_0581SAM_0582SAM_0583

I love the fabric…so sweet with the snowman

SAM_0580SAM_0587

It’s a nice simple quilt pattern and we opted to quilt it with the pattern called Quirky.

Carol Anne….another wonderful quilt, great job.

What does the fox say…..

SAM_0548
I told you I liked this pattern called Zoey’s Zoo….The fox was just too cute not to whip up. The churndash border really adds nice detail to the pattern and it was simple to put together.

The fabric for the border was the perfect choice with all the little critters all over it.

Not that they aren’t usually, but this one was very, very good, thanks to Jamie Oliver. I have always liked his shows and his recipes and he did not disappoint with this one.  Port Loin Roast with Crackling.

You can find the recipe here http://www.jamieoliver.com/videos/jamie-oliver-s-perfect-pork-loin-roast-with-crackling

Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater

IMGP0365IMGP0366

I’m on a roll with these runners from Shabby Fabric. They are just the right size for any table and small enough to complete in a short period of time.

IMGP0367IMGP0368

It has cute little curly-q tendrils that are embroidered on and the pumpkins are completed with the fusible applique method.

IMGP0371

Perfect for the upcoming fall season.

Penguin love

SAM_0555

I loved this pattern the minute I saw it….it’s called Zoey's Zoo and comes with 4 patterns in one. This adorable penguin, a fox, a lion and a bear. What a deal.

SAM_0557

It started with this nice flannel fabric complete with penguins and then built from there. I just happened to have cute blue snowman flannel for the back in my stash….bonus!

Here’s how you do it

Make your favourite cupcakes…for this one I chose Strawberry Velvet…

IMGP0335IMGP0340

Using a handy dandy cupcake hole-r….remove the innards, but save them.

IMGP0337IMGP0342

Now with a piping bag full of your favourite filling…for this one, I used strawberry crème cheese, fill the holes with goodness.

IMGP0345IMGP0346

Carefully place the outies…inny, then ice with your favourite frosting…mine is Very Berry Strawberry …..

IMGP0348IMGP0349

sprinkled with Huckleberry natural cane sugar.

IMGP0360

Then top off the display with mini balloons, candy necklaces and candles. This was a sweet treat surprise for my youngest daughter’s birthday.

There’s a reason you should follow instructions

IMGP0330IMGP0332

Things started off ok with The Pioneer Woman’s chocolate pudding recipe…then went downhill very quickly. Her instructions indicate that you should make this recipe in a blender.

Well a blender and a food processor are pretty well the same thing aren’t they? and my food processer was more accessible than the blender….

It was all good till the shit  chocolate hit the fan blade….then all hell broke loose..

IMGP0333

You’ve seen those posts on Pinterest fails…..this was one of those.

The recipe is awesome though…just do as you’re told. You can find the recipe here http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2012/02/pots-de-creme-a-lorange/

The look really yummy in these mini jam jars.

Scrumptious

Homemade Ice Cream Sandwiches
IMGP0034
Super simple to make and a sure fire hit for any event.
Start with your favourite homemade cookies. I use my favourite cookie recipe called Cup O’ Love Cookies. Nice and chewy.
IMGP0020
Then add your favourite ice cream…the only catch….it needs to be in a small round container. I love this Salted Caramel one.
IMGP0027
Cut the ice cream container into slices, then just remove the container wrapper…perfect circles of ice cream goodness.
IMGP0030IMGP0033
Stack a cookie on either side and wrap the sandwiches in parchment paper squares tied up with baker’s twine.
IMGP0034IMGP0039
MMMM    MMMM Good!
