Connie’s quilts are always amazing….perfectly finished and perfectly square…a complete joy to load onto the long arm machine.
The pattern is called Wonky Lazy Angle and is the monthly BOM quilt that was offered at Kindred Spirits Quilt Co. The original blocks were from the book Lazy and Lovin It and this is the setting offered by the store, once all the blocks were finished.

Look at these beginners go! First block all finished and awesome. We are teaching the class from Eleanor Burn’s beginner book and this block is called First Love. I think she calls it that because once these beginners make their first block, they are in love and totally hooked on quilting. You can see the pure joy in their faces as they show off their masterpieces.
Gloria, Trish, Karen and Ann and doing fantastic and are becoming accomplished quilter’s with each stitch!
My niece recently had her wedding shower and my sister in law asked me if I could make a few sweet treats for the sweet table. I love baking and was delighted to be asked. I packed up button sugar cookies in cute little packages easy to grab and go.
These little bite size loafs were quick and easy to make and about the size of a muffin, so perfect for giving. I had just as much fun wrapping them up as I did baking them and twice as much fun eating them as well. My hips hate me!
These group of ladies were so much fun to teach. The took the Dude Bib Class offered at Kindred Spirits Quilt Co. and look what they accomplished! A fully completed little Sherriff bib! Totally awesome and cute as a button.
Cathy, Donna, Anne, Linda and Bev all enjoyed the morning class and now are experts on how to assemble with ease these cute little goodies called Dude Bibs. We chose to make the Sherriff but included in the pattern are also a tuxedo and a business man bib. Great job babes!
Another Apples of Gold BOM block completed. Val Laird would probably have a fit that I’m changing up her BOM….I’ve substituted her gorgeous embroidery and verses to fit these cute pre-printed quilt sayings I picked up when I was in Florida. I love her original designs, I do, I’m just not an accomplished embroiderer. In fact accomplished isn’t the word…let’s face it I suck!
I loved her scrappy design with all the blocks and wanted desperately to do the BOM, but had to improvise or it would have been a train wreck.
I love the way mine looks, and I’ve had no stress with needle and floss.
Another block done in my Sulky I love Sewing BOM from Sulky International. I’ve been using scraps and fat quarters I had stashed away and they seem to be coming together just fine. The spools are one of my favourite blocks….
I’ll have to sew on all the buttons and trim once it’s finally finished and quilted, but for now, let’s just see what they’ll look like once attached….
I’m always looking for different and unusual things for my backyard gardens and I lucked out with this little toy wagon. We visited a little antique store a few weeks back and I came across this lovely little goodie…by no means an antique but cute as a button. Had to get it with the anticipation of a backyard planter. It looks great with my hens and chicks planted in it.
Wow, I should go into business…..first my daughter, then my sister….
“Do you think you can help me wrap this nicely?”
Dear daughter had a lovely bridal book and gift card, but had no idea how to wrap it up…..how about a little wedding dress from a doily plus why not wrap a wedding garter around the book as well just to finish the look.
Then Sis had a gorgeous salad set with servers in a fabulous box, but the dilemma was an existing label on top of the box……so let’s hide it with a wedding cake……delicious right?
I should charge by the hour!
This adorable bib is just one of the designs from the pattern Diva Bibs from Vanilla House Designs. I’m taught a morning class on them at Kindred Spirits Quilt Co. and this is the sample for the store. I just love the farm print fabric. Sooooooo adorable. Even though it’s for a girl my grandson Owen thought is was fun too……he kept looking at the fabric and saying “Moo, moo”.
It’s projects like this that I wish I had a little granddaughter to dress up and spoil like my grandsons.
And how could you not with these cute little guys. These are called Crazy Dogs and are a free BOM. The blocks are small just 8.5X8.5 but make a huge impact.
I’m creating this BOM quilt for my grandson Ayden who thinks each block is more fun than the last. He can’t quite comprehend that it will take a while to get the whole quilt completed.

It’s so much fun, each one seams to have it’s own personality. Half the excitement is deciding what fabric and colors to use to make them up.
Wow these ladies from my Beginner Class at Kindred Spirits Quilt Co. are doing wonderfully with their first blocks after learning the basics of cutting and 1/4 inch seams. Monica, Trish, Gloria, Ann and Karen are well on their way to completing their first block called First Love.
And of course as a beginner it’s always good to learn how to pick out seams properly as well….let’s face it, we’ve all been there!
Coming back from Elmira recently we came across a small garden center and decided to stop in. Inside I found the cutest display of fairy garden merchandise. I could have bought out the store but had to decide on a few choice pieces to take home as they were a little pricy. Not so much each, but you add them up together…it sure mounted up.
I opted for a little metal gazebo, the gazing ball and stand, of course the garden fairy, a frog and watering can, along with snails and little clay pots.
I used pebbles out of the garden, and we had some thin slate that I broke up into small pieces to create a path. I planted ground cover plants along with chicks and hens. It was so fun to create. It looks almost magical.
